Because of a prolonged legal dispute with their former label Thousand Year Reich over the rights to the band's still-unreleased first recording (2006's "Angels of Meth," rumored to only exist in Fenrisz's vast demo archives), "Power Frost" is technically the first official release from Târgu Mureș, Romania's frozen sons.
Originally issued by Magic Bullet Records on Black Friday of 2013 as a Record Store Day exclusive release, this 7" was officially the first time a band scored a perfect 10/10 in the reviews section of Decibel Magazine. In 2018, Pax Aeternum Digital was tapped to represent these songs digitally moving forward.

If Elric had a soundtrack it would be this. It's everything you want from a epic metal album. Like a hot poker in the eye, but in a good way. Scott Malthouse
never been a big death metal fan but this is actually super accessible for the genre, has fun concepts, and personally i'm always a fan of albums with short tracklists and huge runtimes (for individual songs) Great time, good jumping on point for newbies too. alienasu
So I can't leave a long enough review to say everything I want. But I will say this, I love this EP. It's a great little follow up to times, and has just enough of a dynamic shift in sound to prove that Smoulder isn't a one trick pony with their first album's formula. This one really plays up the 70s prog aspects (DUST and Manilla Road influences definitely shine through even harder here). It's still Smoulder, don't get me wrong. Just a different side in some ways, all of which are good. playfulpooka
